Josh Garratt is the 2023 Angel Investor of the Year recipient. He has spent 12 years with fund manager Cromwell Property Group and has experience in the Australian investment and commercialisation sector. 

Since settling in Adelaide in 2008, Josh has been key in building the local startup ecosystem. He is the co-founder of South Australian-based investment group Southern Angels. Between 2019 and 2023 he served as a Commercialisation Facilitator for the Australian Government’s Accelerating Commercialisation program before joining the Industry Growth Program in 2024. 

Josh gives strategic business counsel to dozens of companies and enjoys diving deep into new technologies and sectors.

He holds a Bachelor of Communication and takes part in programs to expand his field of knowledge.
