This proficiency test is part of our 2024 proficiency testing (PT) program for gas mixtures. The study is covered by our PT provider accreditation (ISO 17043).

Registrations close 1 June 2024.

Test materials

We’ll prepare and distribute each PT sample:

  • in a 5 L gas cylinder with the cylinder valve outlet: AS2473 Type 44 (please note the change to the valve outlet type)
  • at around 25 bar pressure.

Gas samples will contain these components (nominal amounts only):

  • Sulphur dioxide ≤ 0.1 % mol/mol
  • Carbon dioxide ≤ 10 % mol/mol
  • Carbon monoxide ≤ 0.1 % mol/mol
  • Oxygen ≤ 10 % mol/mol
  • Nitrogen as balance.

Sample distribution and reporting

We’ll:

  • distribute samples by 1 August 2024
  • issue the PT report in December 2024.

Once you’ve completed the study you must:

  • submit your measurement results by 1 October 2025
  • include a brief description of the test method
  • include an expanded measurement uncertainty estimate, if applicable.

You must then return the sample cylinders by 15 October 2024.
