A major barrier to commercialising this technology is that Australian designed scramjet engines are exclusively hydrogen fuelled. Hydrocarbon fuel is required for commercial deployment due to challenges of hydrogen usage. This project solves this problem by developing new technology to fuel scramjets with liquid hydrocarbons.
