Hillary is based at the Australian Mission to the European Union in Brussels.

Hillary facilitates Australia’s engagement with the European region, both bilaterally and in key multilateral forum.

This includes work with the European Union and its member states, the United Kingdom and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Hillary’s priorities include:

  • engaging on safe and responsible critical technologies development and use, particularly harmonising regulations, standards and interoperability
  • deepening cooperation on secure and diverse supply chains for critical and strategic minerals and resources
  • building on longstanding science, research and innovation collaboration across energy transition, raw materials, value chains, critical technologies, space, health, and researcher training and mobility
  • representing Australia at OECD Committees on science, technology and innovation, industry and entrepreneurship, and digital policy.

Hillary brings extensive private‑sector experience in Australia’s mining, resources and energy sectors and has worked across industry, trade, economic and foreign policy roles. Most recently, she developed Australia’s industrial policy on green metals and decarbonising heavy industry.
