Ms Anton provides strategic leadership of the National Measurement Institute (NMI), Australia’s peak body for measurement.

This includes managing public resources and staff, ensuring strong accountability, compliance and governance, and advising on measurement policy and priority.

Deborah became Chief Executive Officer of the NMI on 16 February 2026.

Deborah is an accomplished leader with more than 30 years’ experience in the Australian Public Service, including 18 years in senior executive roles. She has led major legislative, regulatory, policy and program reforms across agencies, with considerable experience in complex transformation and federal and state government initiatives.

Deborah has a Master of Management (Industry Strategy) and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology from the Australian National University.
