National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator reviews
The National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator (NOPTA) is responsible for day-to-day administration of oil, gas and greenhouse gas titles in Commonwealth waters in Australia. NOPTA:
- assists and advises the Joint Authorities and Commonwealth Minister
- keeps title registers
- manages data and information
NOPTA is a statutory position within the department, established under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 . The Act requires reviews of NOPTA activities every 5 years.
2020 NOPTA review
We are managing the process and independent consultant Deloitte will conduct the review. We expect to complete the review within 6 months. The final report with be tabled in both houses of parliament.
