Quantum

We support the development and adoption of quantum technologies in Australia.

Why quantum

Quantum technology has the potential to dramatically improve computing power, communications and sensing. It could revolutionise the way we live, work and interact with the world around us.

Quantum technology could unlock improvements in:

  • advanced medical research and imaging
  • satellite navigation
  • weather modelling
  • disaster response management.

The Australian Government has identified quantum as a critical technology in the national interest.

Growing Australia’s quantum industry

The National Quantum Strategy will help grow Australia’s quantum industry and ensure it achieves its economic and social potential. Australia’s former Chief Scientist, Dr Cathy Foley AO PSM, led the strategy development.
