Local industry capability register for Melbourne, SE Queensland and Townsville

A local industry capability register is on the way for Melbourne, SE Queensland and Townsville businesses. The register will enable local suppliers to promote their actual and potential capabilities to other businesses, and to the public.
The register will:
- foster collaboration between local businesses
- support local investment
- promote business opportunities both within and beyond the locality
The register will focus on assisting manufacturers, but will be open to other sectors.
The local industry capability register is an important contribution to the Australian Government’s economic recovery plan. It also complements the JobMaker plan and Modern Manufacturing Strategy to harness Australian manufacturing capability, and drive our economic recovery and future resilience.
Our department is working with state and local governments, industry associations and local businesses to develop and promote the register. We’ve established a user group representing each of the localities to inform the register’s design.
Industry Capability Network Limited (ICNL) will host the register.
The register will be free to use and publicly available at www.capabilityconnection.com.au.
