Certain Inputs to Manufacture

The Certain Inputs to Manufacture (CIM) program helps reduce import costs for Australian manufacturers of eligible goods.

It aims to support manufacturers who import:

  • chemical, plastics and paper goods
  • metal materials and goods used in food packaging.

Chemical and biological measurement services

Chemical and biological reference materials

Quality reference materials are essential to making correct measurements when determining the composition of a chemical or gas sample. We provide chemical calibration standards, chemical matrix reference materials, and gas calibration standards.

This program was an initiative under the previous government and is currently under review.

Depositing biological materials for patents

If you invent and submit a micro-organism for a patent you can deposit a sample with us to meet the requirements for repeatability, and provide a full description of biological materials. We are an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty.
