DISRUPT AI Film Festival is Australia's first generative AI film festival, to showcase human creativity amplified by AI tools. Launching in 2025, it champions "human-in-the-loop creativity" where technology becomes a co-creator rather than a replacement.
The festival invites filmmakers, students, artists and technologists to explore storytelling using AI tools. With the theme "Humans and Their Tools," it emphasises that the skill of the human creator makes the difference.
Four competition categories include Best Short Film, Best Long Film, Best Student Film, and a Grand Prix winner receiving AUD $15,000. The inaugural showcase takes place on 29th October 2025
