National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority: Operational reviews

The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) regulates petroleum and greenhouse gas activities in Commonwealth waters in Australia. It is responsible for:

  • offshore oil and gas health and safety, well integrity and environmental management
  • greenhouse gas safety

NOPSEMA is an independent statutory authority established under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006. The Act requires regular operational reviews of NOPSEMA.

Previous reviews

NOPSEMA transitioned from the National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority (NOPSA) in 2012.
