Australia’s National Measurement Institute calculable capacitator

NMI and NIM are the peak measurement bodies for Australia and China. 

The renewal of the MoU underscores the commitment of both nations to promoting scientific excellence and innovation through international collaboration.

First established in 2010, the MoU renewal will continue to:

  • strengthen bilateral ties 
  • foster advancement in measurement science 
  • further collaboration in metrological domains such as electrical, nano and chemical measurement.

It also provides the framework for measurement collaboration in areas of mutual priority such as:

  • facilitating joint research projects between the two peak measurement bodies 
  • enhancing the accuracy and reliability of measurement standards.

Areas of focus for the partnership include joint research on next generation electrical measurement standards, and measurement of environmental pollutants and nanoparticles in food.
