World Expo 2025 in Osaka will run until 13 October 2025 and attracts more than 28 million visitors. Throughout the expo, Australia will highlight its innovation and expertise in science, critical technologies, advanced manufacturing, the digital economy and resources.
The expo will grow new partnerships, creating opportunities for Australian businesses, researchers and innovators.
The Australian Government’s custom-built pavilion gives visitors an immersive Australian experience. Inside it, we’ll host business meetings, workshops and cultural events.
In May we’ve been focusing on showcasing Australian space, science and technology.
We opened with an event to celebrate the 45th anniversary of our science and technology treaty with Japan. The treaty supports strategic partnerships and allows us to collaborate with Japanese scientists, researchers, educators and companies. We’re leveraging the expo to facilitate connections between Australian researchers and innovators and their counterparts in Japan and the broader region.
The Australian Space Agency, Questacon, CSIRO and Australia’s Chief Scientist are showcasing our expertise in space, science communications, research, robotics and AI technologies.
In September we’ll shift our focus to reflect innovation in our industry and resources sectors. This includes our developments in critical minerals and green metals.
The World Expo has been held every 5 years since 1851. It showcases innovative science and technology, inspiring countries to collaborate and progress global goals. This year’s theme is ‘designing future society for our lives.’
