The Pax Silica Summit is a United States-led initiative on securing technology supply chains. The summit was held in Washington D.C. on 12 December 2025. We joined 6 other countries in signing the Pax Silica Declaration at the summit.

Making sure our technology supply chains are resilient as the world around us changes is a core economic, strategic and security concern. That’s why Australia is committed to working with partners around the world to help create and build the technology infrastructure we need to support our future prosperity.

The Pax Silica Summit strengthens our collaboration with the US and other countries on supply chain resilience. It shows our shared commitment to developing secure supply chains that are critical to ensuring technological progress and economic security in Australia’s interests. 

Our participation in the summit reflects our approach to building on Australia’s comparative strengths in critical minerals, artificial intelligence and critical technologies.

Signing the declaration supports our focus on:

  • fostering a competitive, safe and inclusive digital ecosystem
  • strengthening economic resilience in our region.

Through our participation at the summit, Australia has encouraged the United States to expand participation and to work with other partners to further shape how diversified critical technology supply chains are developed in our region.

It will help us and our international partners secure the resources and infrastructure we need as we advance our developments in technologies like AI.
