Robotics

We are building a stronger economy through robotics and automation in Australia.

Robotics and automation development and adoption will be crucial to building a Future Made in Australia. We will do this in a responsible way that will allow everyone to share in the full benefits of these technologies.

These technologies can help our economy by:

  • allowing Australian companies to scale and boost their productivity
  • assisting in the rollout of our net zero economy
  • addressing workforce shortages in sectors already under pressure.

The Australian Government identified robotics as a critical technology in the national interest.

Building Australia’s robotics future

The National Robotics Strategy is a framework to responsibly grow Australia’s robotics and automation ecosystem. It sets out goals for Australia around 4 themes that represent areas of focus for building Australia’s robotics and automation future:

  • national capability
  • increasing adoption
  • trust, inclusion and responsible development and use
  • skills and diversity.
