The Kimba Hospital has opened a new $250,000 palliative care wing designed to give privacy and space to terminally ill patients and their families. $220,000 of the project has come from the Community Benefit Programme as part of the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility consultations. The remaining funds were raised by the Ladies Auxiliary.
The Kimba Consultative Committee was thanked for supporting and recognising the importance of the project. The committee was tasked with advising the government on funding projects through the Community Benefit Programme.
