New low emissions technology partnership with the Republic of Korea

Australia and the Republic of Korea have agreed to establish the Australia-Republic of Korea Low and Zero Emissions Technology Partnership.

The 2 countries will collaborate across existing and emerging low and zero emissions technologies.

Early priorities will focus on:

  • hydrogen supply (including clean hydrogen and clean ammonia)
  • low emissions steel and iron ore
  • carbon capture, use and storage (CCUS).

Australia’s Special Adviser to the Australian Government on Low Emissions Technology, Dr Alan Finkel, is playing a key role in brokering the partnership.
