The Australian Government is manufacturing a new future for our nation. Manufacturing is critical to a modern Australian economy—a key part of almost every supply chain that adds significant value to all sectors.

Under the Modern Manufacturing Strategy road maps for 6 key areas of focus have been developed with industry to set out plans for both industry and Government to strengthen Australia’s manufacturing capability. The road maps have been led by industry taskforces to identify and set a future vision for the priority areas with clear goals, opportunities and actions over the next 2, 5 and 10 years.

Australia’s natural advantages mean our resources sector is already a global powerhouse.

But there is more we can and should do, particularly in value-adding to our critical minerals and selling our innovative technologies to the world.

Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Processing is one of six priority areas under the Australian Government’s $1.5 billion Modern Manufacturing Strategy.

Businesses with projects in the priority area are now able to apply for support under our Modern Manufacturing Initiative.

Grants will be available for companies to commercialise new products and processes or integrate into domestic and global supply chains.

To guide funding applications, we have released an industry-led Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Processing road map.

From energy saving technologies for the mining sector to minerals processing for electric vehicles to automated trucks and robotic equipment – there are many opportunities to grow our resources technology sector and generate more value from processing our critical minerals reserves.
