National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority: 2008 Operational review
The National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority (NOPSA) was responsible for improving offshore petroleum and greenhouse gas safety in Commonwealth waters from 2005 to 2012.
An independent panel of experts reviewed NOPSA operations in 2008. The review examined NOPSA’s progress since operations began. It was tabled in Parliament in June 2008.
The Government responded to the review as part of the response to an Offshore Petroleum Safety Regulation Inquiry. This independent inquiry investigated NOPSA’s practices and effectiveness, including the relationship between maritime and offshore petroleum legislation.
