Fuel Standards Consultative Committee

The Fuel Standards Consultative Committee provides a consultative mechanism for the Australian Government. The Minister must consult the committee and consider its recommendations before:

  • creating or amending a fuel quality standard
  • granting, varying or revoking an approval to vary a fuel standard

The Minister must advise the committee if:

  • an application has been received for an emergency approval
  • the Minister intends to grant an emergency approval

Members

The committee includes representatives from:

  • the Australian Government
  • state and territory governments
  • petroleum fuel and biofuel producers
  • the vehicle and trucking industry
  • an environment protection body
  • a consumer interest body
