Asialink Business was established through a funding agreement between the Department and the University of Melbourne to equip Australian businesses and organisations, including those in the public sector, with the skills and capabilities to succeed in the Asian Century. The Government has committed to spending $37.4 million (GST exclusive) over a twelve year period from 2012-13 to 2023-24.
This is a continuation of Cabinets agreement to fund the establishment of Asialink Business for the next three years (2017-2020).
A Review of Asialink Business has been conducted by the Department.
A key recommendations of the Review:
1) The policy rationale for government support for Asialink Business remains valid and is consistent with current government priorities 2) The Department should enter into a new funding agreement to fund the operation of Asialink Business.
3) Asialink Business has achieved all relevant milestones in the current funding agreement.
