Resources

Australia has abundant and diverse mineral and energy resources. In addition, the resources sector has a strong history of innovation, and has developed many specialised technologies to increase productivity, achieve social objectives and generate value for the Australian economy.

The Department publish the Resources and Energy Quarterly, which provides an overview of the domestic and global resources sector. Specifically, it provides; an overview of the global macroeconomic situation, global production and consumption data, forecasts for Australian volumes and values for key resources and energy commodities, key topics and issues of relevance in the sector and detailed statistical tables on historical and forecast data for Australia’s resources and energy exports.

This section of the Industry Monitor measures Australia’s performance in resource exports and provides one and two year forecasts for key resources and energy commodity exports.
