Industry Capability Network Limited (ICNL) core functions are:

  • nationally coordinate the State based Industry Capability Network (ICN) including New Zealand,
  • administer the Supplier Access to Major Projects (SAMP) program for the Australian Government, and
  • manage the Industry Capability Showcase (ICS).  The national database of Australian industry capabilities has been expanded to include project opportunities in Project Gateway.

ICNL also develops and markets information on Australian industry capability.

The State based ICN offices are funded by their respective governments to maximise opportunities for Australian companies.  They have experienced technical consultants with extensive knowledge of the resources and capability of Australian industry.  These technical consultants use the ICS to match buyers of goods and services with capable and competitive Australian suppliers.

For further information on ICNL, the ICS and Project Gateway see the ICNL website

ICNL (formerly ISONET Limited) was established as an independent company in 1995.  It receives funding from the Australian Government though the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.

ICNL and SAMP Australia Evaluation

An evaluation of the ICNL and SAMP Australia programs was conducted by the then Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources in 2007.  The evaluation examined the appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency of the programs and how they accord with the objectives of the 2001 Australian Industry Participation National Framework.  An Executive Summary of the evaluation report is available for download.
