Through the Department, Australia is an active participant in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Sub-Committee on Standards and Conformance (SCSC).

The Australian Aerospace Industry Forum was established in 2006 to ensure the continued development of a sustainable aerospace industry, to promote Australian capabilities and to provide a collective industry voice to government on current issues.

The Industry Capability Network Limited previously operate as ISONET. The Network seeks to match buyers of goods and services with capable Australian suppliers.
- Industry Innovation Councils
Industry Innovation Councils cover a number of industries with membership drawn from innovation leaders in business, unions, research and government. The Councils provide strategic advice on innovation priorities to the Minister, champion innovation in industry and build connections with other innovation organisations.

A Pulp and Paper Industry Strategy Group has been formed to undertake a review of the pulp and paper industry in Australia.
