The adoption of digital models and technology within the built environment offers significant productivity and environmental gains for the industry. The Built Environment Digital Modelling Working Group's (the Working Group) mission is to develop an Australian built environment industry capable of adopting integrated digital models and technology to address new regulations, improve efficiency, address environmental and life-cycle issues and increase international competitiveness.

The Working Group brings together industry, researchers, policy-makers and industry associations in the built environment and the information technology industries. The group is chaired by Dr Michael Green, General Manager, Innovation and Space Branch, Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.

The Working Group recently met on 17 August and 15 October 2009. The Working Group agreed to a discussion paper (.pdf, 282kb) to focus their purpose and explore the issues surrounding the adoption of digital models and technology.
