The Business Continuity Management handbook (HB221:2004) sets out a definition and process for business continuity management, and provides a workbook that may be used by organisations to assist in implementation. The handbook is available for purchase online or in hard copy.
The Risk Management standard (HB4360:2004) provides a generic guide for managing risk. It may be applied to a wide range of activities or operations of any public, private or community enterprise, or group. The Risk Management Standard has an essential companion Handbook, Risk Management Guidelines - Companion to AS/NZS 4360. The Risk Management Guidelines handbook provides generic guidance for establishing and implementing effective risk management processes in any organisation. It demonstrates how to establish the proper context, and then how to identify, analyse, evaluate, treat, communicate and monitor risks.
The two documents are intended to be used together, with the Handbook providing important commentary, guidance and examples on the implementation of the Standard. Both publications are available for purchase online or in hard copy.
